How to apply Feast Watson Spar Marine:
Okay, let's do this! Follow these steps on how to clear coat using Spar Marine:
Thoroughly stir Spar Marine Varnish before and during application with a flat blade stirrer. Take care not to introduce bubbles!
Using a brush, roller or spray, apply Spar Marine Varnish. Spray: If using a spray, the Spar Marine Varnish may be thinned by using 10% mineral turpentine. Roller: If using a roller, use a short nap (5mm) mohair roller. Ensure edges and end grain are fully coated.
Make sure to apply minimum three coats. Four or more coats may be applied for extra durability to withstand extreme exposure, or when the coating has been thinned.
Allow 12 hours drying time between coats. Sand lightly between coats.
The final coat should be applied within 30 hours of the previous coat to ensure timber is protected. Note: Do NOT apply in temperatures under 10 C or above 35 C or when rain or heavy dew is expected within the coating dry time.
How to maintain your timber after using Feast Watson Spar Marine:
As always, regularly monitor the surface for signs of colour loss or surface defects.
Reapply Spar Marine as the timber changes colour or when water repellency is lost due to weathering.
When required, lightly sand the surface and remove sanding dust. Then, recoat with additional coats of Feast Watson Spar Marine Varnish as per application instructions.
Do not pour leftover product down the drain.
Brush leftover product onto newspaper, and allowed to completely dry, before disposing of via general waste collection.
Empty containers should be left open in a well-ventilated area to dry out. When dry, recycle the container through steel can recycle programs such as Paintback.
