Fine Buffing Oil
Wax Enriched Timber Oil
A special blend of penetrating tung oil with hard-drying beeswax and carnauba wax. Fine Buffing Oil is applied and then buffed, with the waxes protecting the timber and providing a traditional hand rubbed finish for all interior woodwork.
Fine Buffing Oil is suitable for use over previously sealed or varnished timber and is perfect for restoring a lustre to worn surfaces. Ideal for lathe work.
Sand to a smooth surface and remove all sanding dust before coating. Fine Buffing Oil can be applied direct to raw timber, however for best results timber shoudl be sealed. Seal bare timber with Feast Watson Proofseal.
To achieve a super-smooth finish or if the timber grain is open or coarse, apply a coat of Feast Watson Sanding Sealer and sand back as per the directions
Previously Coated Timber
Clean previously varnished surfaces with Feast Watson Floorclean and allow to dry.
Surfaces to be coated must be dry and free from all dirt, dust, grease, wax and oil. Apply Fine Buffing Oil with a nylon scouring pad or with fine steel wool (000). Apply in the direction of the grain. For soft timbers such as pine, apply using a soft cloth.
Allow Fine Buffing Oil to penetrate 10 - 20 minutes. When the surface gets tacky wipe vigorously with a coarse cloth.
Leave for approximately 5 hours then buff surface with a soft clean cloth. On softwoods the process can be repeated to increase the lustre of the finish by using a soft cloth to apply Fine Buffing Oi
When the surface looks in need of rejuvenation, wash with sugar soap and water, or Mineral Turpentine and a scouring pad, then reapply Fine Buffing Oil as outlined in the application directions.
