An extremely durable but very soft timber commonly used for weatherboards, fascias, windows, doors and joinery. It is easy to work and takes stains and coatings readily. The uncoated surface of this timber will weather (go grey) more dramatically than other timbers when used outside. To prevent this, Western Red Cedar should be coated upon delivery and prior to installation with one coat of stain.
