Corporate Information
Feast Watson has always been a pioneer and innovator in wood finishing systems. Founded by Percy Watson, in 1922, Feast Watson began life manufacturing traditional stains and varnishes in an inner city suburb in Sydney, with an aim to enhance and promote the natural beauty of wood. A small family owned business, Feast Watson produced high quality protective and decorative coatings, marketed under the brand name Watsonia.

In 1924, Feast Watson registered as a company and continued to grow under the family watch. Percy's son, Colin, joined Feast Watson as a qualified chemist and took over the helm as Executive Director. In 1988 the company was acquired by Alan Anderson, then sold again in 1991 to Maxwell Chemicals. During this period, Feast Watson continued to grow, developing a number of high quality marine grade coatings that provided significant growth in this area of the market.
With Maxwell Chemicals came the opportunity for national distribution. Sales of the Watsonia range, now branded Feast Watson, grew rapidly and continued to strengthen the premium positioning of the brand. Acquisition by Orica, in 1998, provided further opportunity to widen distribution of Feast Watson and expand the range, and also saw the launch of a commercial range of floor finishes in 1999.

Feast Watson has become a nationally recognised name in professional timber finishes. Through continual product development, technological advancements have improved enormously with strong benefits seen in areas such as durability, ease of application and scuff resistance. A commitment to creating and perfecting products which suit the Australian lifestyle distinguishes Feast Watson from other product options. Care and attention to our customers' needs has resulted in a number of new products and product enhancements and has also resulted in the publication of this website, designed to present our products in a helpful and interactive format. We trust you will find it informative.
